Millenial's in the Workplace

I attended a HR Professionals of Minnesota lunch today where the speakers, Terese Blanck and Maria Helgerson from fahrenHEIGHT360 talked about the generational differences in the workplace. Here are some of the key points I gained from the presentation;

1. The Millennial generation is much more open with personal information than other generations.

2. All generations are interested in challenging and meaningful work but Millennial's are more vocal about it.

3. Millennial's will target working for organizations who are industries they are passionate about, such as green initiatives, global warming, etc.

4. The 20-25 year old brain in the current workforce is different than the 20-25 year old brain in the work force 20 years ago. Their brain is evolving on the job and organizations need to take this into account when attracting, retaining, and engaging this employee age range.
